Charity Events
The Flying Platypi work to give back to the community and sponsors by attending or putting on charity events.
After hearing about the the mining accident in West Virginia during 2010, we decided to raise money in order to donate it to the West Virginia Coal Miners Association for the families affected by the disaster. To raise funds, we hosted a Chick-fil-a night where all the profits we earned would go towards our goal.
In addition to our fundraiser, The Flying Platypi signed up for a shift at a Operation Christmas Child processing center in Charlotte, NC. The day we volunteered the team helped sort and pack boxes headed for Madagascar and Ukraine. It was a great experience for the team and we all had fun volunteering.
