There are two light bulbs that are being offered: an 800 lumen bulb which directly replaces a 60w incandescent bulb and a 450 lumen version which replaces a 40w incandescent bulb.
Both bulbs have these features:

- 25,000-hour life equal to 22.8 years when used 3 hours per day

The energy cost of the 40w bulb is $1.02 per year and $1.63 per year for the 60w bulb. With an average use of 3 hours a day, the lightbulbs are expected to last 22.8 years! Both lightbulbs use only 8.5-13.5 watts which is 80% more efficient than 40w or 60w incandescent bulbs. The bulbs are maintenance free and last 33 times longer than conventional lightbulbs. (Imagine not having to change a lightbulb for years!) Within 18 months of purchase, the energy saved is greater than the cost of the lightbulb.
